I switched phones, but I have a subscription. How do I restore it?

Open HandiPark, go to the subscription screen and tap "Restore subscription". This links your existing purchase to your new phone as long as you use the same store account (Google Play or App Store). No worries if you accidentally tap a plan you already own, you will not be billed again.

Please note: a subscription can only be restored on the same platform. If you move from Android to iPhone, or from iPhone to Android, you will unfortunately need a new subscription.

How many accessible parking spots does HandiPark cover, and how are the coverage percentages calculated?

HandiPark currently indexes 366,910 physically dedicated accessible parking bays across 29 European countries. In Norway alone, the app indexes between 17,500 and 21,500 spaces. Here is an overview and how the coverage percentages are calculated:

Why these coverage figures?

Dedicated marked bays vs. street parking concessions

In many European countries, notably the United Kingdom, Germany and France, disability parking frameworks such as the Blue Badge and the EU model card work largely through parking concessions rather than painting individual accessible bays on every block. Badge holders are often allowed to park free of charge in standard unmarked pay-and-display bays, or for limited periods on restricted curbs. Because drivers use standard bays under these concessions, municipalities only paint physically designated accessible bays outside critical locations such as hospitals, pharmacies, government offices and major transit interchanges. HandiPark focuses strictly on physically signposted, reserved bays with dedicated signage or ground markings.

Grandfathered and small facilities

Across Europe, millions of smaller parking areas with fewer than 10 to 20 spots, older residential complexes and private courtyards have no dedicated accessible bays, because accessibility quotas usually apply only to modern developments or major renovations.

Conservative vs. optimistic benchmarks

  • Conservative estimates benchmark our data against the highest possible theoretical universe of spaces, including older unmodernized infrastructure and remote rural facilities.
  • Optimistic estimates benchmark against actively regulated, verified and signposted accessible bays in urban centres, shopping centres, transit terminals and public amenities.

One thing we can promise: every spot in HandiPark comes from a real data source, so when you see accessible parking in the app, you can be confident that it is there. For many drivers, that reliability is what matters most.

Your support makes this possible: when you subscribe or buy HandiPark, you help us actively maintain the app and keep improving it, so it can become the best parking app for the people who need it.

I just parked on an HC spot, but it does not appear in HandiPark. Why not?

That is unfortunate, and it means HandiPark did not have that spot in our data. A community feature is planned for the future, where you and other users will be able to contribute, add and rate spots. We are also working to add more datasets and more parking spots in the year that comes.
